First Nations
The Lutheran Church of Australia acknowledges that our loving Creator God first gave the land on which we are placed, to the peoples of the First Nations who have walked and cared for this land since before recorded time. We thank God for the land’s Traditional Custodians and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging as we travel this journey of reconciliation in Australia.

Living Faith Church, School, Kindy and ELC welcome people from all backgrounds. We believe that ethnicity, beliefs and gender are NOT barriers to keep us apart BUT, opportunities for understanding and personal and community growth. Diversity need not divide but rather, enrich us and fuel our desire to know others well and to love more deeply.

The cross is the essential Christian symbol.
A symbol of torture and death? Why?
It represents many things. The most obvious is the death of Jesus which Christians hold to be the central event in God's plan of salvation and healing for all the world.
Its wider symbolism is of the incarnation; of God become human in Jesus. It also reminds us that Jesus death was not the end but that he was raised to life on the third day - Easter Sunday.
The cross not only reminds us of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus but also of his ascension to the seat of all power and authority.
Finally and most importantly, the cross reminds us of the love of God who was prepared to make such a sacrifice for us - for me and you. Â
Living Faith congregation was officially formed on April 2, 2000 as an amalgamation between the Lutheran churches of Sandgate and Petrie.
